Developed during the Type@Cooper extended course 2016, Electrica and its three styles (Regular, Italic, Black) are created as a loud and heavy display system for indoor / outdoor signage under instruction of Christian Schwartz, Berton Hasebe and Troy Leinster.

Electrica is influenced by American traditional sign painting, wood types and the attitude of the New York music scene:

"In the 1980's Electrica became clossely associated with hardcore punk bands like Agnostic Front, Murphys Law, Sick Of It All, Youth of Today and Cro-Mags. Becoming synonymous with their sound".

In March, 2018 Electrica became one of the 74 selected projects out of 444 entries in Tipos Latinos 8, one of the selected 21 display typefaces and one of the 3 Colombian selected works.

Described by Rubén Salinas Heredia as "Monumental", Electrica travels throughout Latin America promoting and celebrating Latin American Typography.
